FA109 Introduction to Photography 2 credits

An introduction to photography with emphasis placed upon technical, aesthetic, and historical perspectives of this fine art medium. Studies will include an integration of the stylistic and technical developments in the history of photography as well as the works of well-known photographers from 1839 to the present. In this course students will learn the basics of digital photography while working at their own skill level.  Classroom demonstrations and student assignments will be completed in the areas of camera operation, lighting, composition, and other topics to give the students basic information in technical and creative photography skills.  Students will have the opportunity to have their photographs considered for use in school publications and displays. The Final Project will include an exhibition of student work in Maxwell Library.
